Microbial Sciences Building, University of Wisconsin
The Contemporary feel of the Microbial Sciences project is evident with the extensive use of glass, Beechwood, and other non-traditional materials and methods employed. Free suspended glass surround staircases with glass overlooks at each floor surely give thousands of UW Madison students each day a new respect for heights as they overlook the six-story atrium in the center of the building.
This project has given hillcraft the opportunity to work with some new products in our designs like zinc and RPG acoustical wall paneling. This was truly an exciting project for hillcraft along with being our first AWI/QCP certified project.
