hillcraft Achieves AWI Quality Certification

hillcraft, Ltd. has satisfied the requirements and is now a certified member of Architectural Woodwork Institute's (AWI) Quality Certification Program. Certification credentials are earned by woodworking firms who, through comprehensive testing and inspection, demonstrate the ability to fabricate, finish and/or install work in accordance with the quality grade criteria set forth in the Quality Standards Illustrated (QSI) book.hillcraft is AWI QCP Certified

In order to achieve this certification, hillcraft had to pass four areas to meet the certification requirements.  First, all their project managers had to pass a 150 question, QCP Certification test, which they scored very high.  Second, they needed ten trade references including architects, contractors and building owners.  Third, they had to pass a plant inspection examining everything from material handling and safety to workmanship.  Finally, they had to pass two job site inspections by an AWI representative.

Achieving this certification puts hillcraft in an elite group of millwork manufacturers.  Only 21 other manufacturers in the state of Wisconsin are AWI QCP Certified with a total membership of 488 in North America.  AWI QCP certification is required on certain high end projects including the new University of Wisconsin Microbial Science Building hillcraft will be working on in the next few months.

This accomplishment is the result of hillcraft's dedicated employees and loyal customers.  Thanks to all.
